“Silent Music” is completed! So excited to share these pictures from my solo exhibit at Evanston Art Center on view through August 11th. This work measures 18’W x 8’H x 2’D and is constructed of dichroic film, vinyl table cloth, plastic bags, gold foil, hand-painted vellum, and thread. It is a site-specific work designed for the Art Center’s atrium window.
The @evanstonartcenter has highlighted my upcoming exhibit “Silent Music” in this lovely article by Jade Davis featured in their Summer Session Art Class catalog. I feel like she captured my thinking about the work really well! Thanks Jade!
Here I am installing sections of “Silent Music” in the 2nd floor atrium of @evanstonartcenter for my solo exhibition. The sunlight was intensely warm and inspired me as I worked. My exhibit opens on July 14th at 1pm and will be up until August 11th. If you are in the Chicago area, I hope you will stop in. :0)
I am so grateful that this work has found a wonderful home with a collector from California. 😀 It is part of my “Lucid Dream” series of water color and candle smoke paintings that were shown in July at @airgallery as a part of the “Active directions of the mind” group exhibition. Thank you @airgallery for your encouragement and support!
I am so incredibly grateful to have been awarded a grant from the Integrity: Arts & Culture Association for the May 2019 award cycle. I am so excited to start on new projects and so deeply appreciate the support!🌷😀
Here is a photo of me at the recent opening of the group exhibition “Active Directions of the Mind” at A.I.R. Gallery in Brooklyn, New York. These are watercolor and candle smoke paintings on paper from a series I have title “Lucid Dream.” If you are in the Brooklyn area, the show is up through June 23rd. :0)
I am so thrilled to share this interview regarding my work in the publication Les Femmes Folles: Women in Art. Special thanks to @sallery_art for this opportunity!
A series of four of my watercolor/smoke paintings will be featured in the group exhibition “Active directions of the mind,” at A.I.R. Gallery from May 23 – June 23, 2019. The opening reception is Thursday, May 23, from 6-8pm. Very excited to visit Brooklyn and meet the wonderful artists in this show. 😀 Special thanks to Alexis Wilkinson for her wonderful curation of the exhibit!
So excited to share the invitation for my solo exhibition at the Evanston Art Center in Illinois from July 14-August 11. I have been preparing for many months and am so thrilled that this is now becoming real! 😀
This is a new project I am excited about called “Silent Stream.” It currently measures about 14’W x 7’H x 10″D. It is configured of hundreds of pieces of colored polyester tulle that I piece and sew together and then layer in variegated sheets of color. This will be part of my installation that will be shown at the Evanston Art Center in July 2019. So excited!
