I am exhibiting two water colors from my “Lucid Dream” series as part of the @sfwa_artistsgallery show “Memories” in San Francisco. The opening is this Thursday, August 8th at 5:30pm. Would love to see you there!
This first painting in the series is finished! It is 19″ x 24″ and is made of watercolor, candle smoke and collaged and sewn transparencies as well as layered tulle. I have been integrating origami patterning with organic elements in my painting. Uncertain of this new work but feeling deeply like I need to follow it.
Here is a brief excerpt from my Artist Talk at Evanston Art Center this past Sunday in conjunction with my exhibit “Silent Music” up through August 11th. My comments were not scripted here so it was refreshing to hear myself speak candidly about what my work meant. There is what we believe consciously and then there are the inner workings. 😀

“Silent Music” is completed! So excited to share these pictures from my solo exhibit at Evanston Art Center on view through August 11th. This work measures 18’W x 8’H x 2’D and is constructed of dichroic film, vinyl table cloth, plastic bags, gold foil, hand-painted vellum, and thread. It is a site-specific work designed for the Art Center’s atrium window.
The @evanstonartcenter has highlighted my upcoming exhibit “Silent Music” in this lovely article by Jade Davis featured in their Summer Session Art Class catalog. I feel like she captured my thinking about the work really well! Thanks Jade!
Here I am installing sections of “Silent Music” in the 2nd floor atrium of @evanstonartcenter for my solo exhibition. The sunlight was intensely warm and inspired me as I worked. My exhibit opens on July 14th at 1pm and will be up until August 11th. If you are in the Chicago area, I hope you will stop in. :0)
I am so grateful that this work has found a wonderful home with a collector from California. 😀 It is part of my “Lucid Dream” series of water color and candle smoke paintings that were shown in July at @airgallery as a part of the “Active directions of the mind” group exhibition. Thank you @airgallery for your encouragement and support!
I am so incredibly grateful to have been awarded a grant from the Integrity: Arts & Culture Association for the May 2019 award cycle. I am so excited to start on new projects and so deeply appreciate the support!🌷😀
Here is a photo of me at the recent opening of the group exhibition “Active Directions of the Mind” at A.I.R. Gallery in Brooklyn, New York. These are watercolor and candle smoke paintings on paper from a series I have title “Lucid Dream.” If you are in the Brooklyn area, the show is up through June 23rd. :0)
