I’m very honored to be named as a “Top 5” selection by Justin Hoover, Executive Director of the Chinese Historical Society of America, for my work “Icarus 4” at the #ArtSpanSF 2021 AMPLIFY show this year! 😀🌈 This exhibition is the culmination of a wonderful month of the annual San Francisco Open Studios. Early Morning in the Studio with Phoenix..

This is me early in the morning working on “Phoenix.” Getting up early means complete concentration. 😀 I needed to draw on both sides of this 11 foot installation and this was the only way! This piece was both a psychological and physical test for me. Sometimes the challenge of working this large felt overwhelming but ultimately I got there one day at a time!

View this installation on Saturdays at Slate Contemporary Gallery in Oakland, CA. They are open from noon-5pm and weekdays by appointment. The show is up through May 29th! ❤🌷

Works featured above include “Spiral Dance” and “Mind/Forest” which were were works I created in 2020 and 2018 respectively. They involve elements of drawing, drafting film and fiber and reflect my desire to create immersive, complex environments of female energy and power.
