I have just finished a series of 5 small works on paper this morning which I am calling “Demeter.” Each measures 6″ x 6″ and is a collage of gouache on paper, candle smoke and transparencies mounted on watercolor paper. For me, it is the physical and the spiritual that are starting to occupy the same space. So happy to share these with you!
I am so excited that my collage “Passage” has been accepted into the group exhibit “RE: RE: RE: patterns” at @labodega_gallery in Brooklyn, New York. The show will be up from September 6 – September 29th.
This piece is 8″x10″ and is made of paper lace doilies and gouache on paper with clippings from @cutmeupmagazine (I love this publication which has inspired so many artists to experiment with collage! Check it out!)
This is #3 in my “Calypso” series. 19″ x 24″, watercolor and candle smoke on paper with sewn transparencies and iridescent thread on netting. I have been thinking of the Goddess and how beauty can be found when you look into the abyss and finally see yourself looking back.
