Light works…

More explorations with food cellophane wrap! I am also painting on translucent vellum and sewing into the layers of plastic so it can become an integrated whole.  These are the beginning steps towards my installation in July 2019 at the Evanston Art Center in Illinois.  There is a light-filled atrium that I am sight-adjusting this work for.  Excited! #sanfranciscoart #californiaart #hollywongart #installationart #lightworks  #evanstonartcenter

Group Show at Richmond Art Center…

I am thrilled to share that two of my “thread drawings” will be exhibited in a group exhibition at the Richmond Art Center show “What Knot” which will be up from September 11th-November 16th. These measure 11″ x 14″ each and use drafting film that I piece using a sewing machine as my drawing line with black thread and drawing paper.

It’s Finished!!

It’s finished! “Mind/Forest” is on exhibit at VAE in Raleigh, North Carolina from August 22nd – October 5th. This piece measures 20′ across and 14′ high and is constructed of tulle sewn with light reflective thread, plastic drafting film, cotton gauze, origami paper and threaded plastic rope. I will be giving an artist’s talk at 7:00pm on October 5th for the closing reception.

This is the realization of a year’s worth of work and I feel very excited to share it with you!
