I am working on painting small scraps of patterns with water color on vellum which I will then cut up and sew into my assemblages. I love the thin and light reflective quality of opaque water color. 😀

I am experimenting here with smaller works. These are counted stitch projects on Irish linen that I plan to then burn and reconstruct. There is a different energy that I feel in working with counted stitch; I have to use a magnifier to really see what I am doing. :0)

Slowly taking shape! Starting to integrate vinyl tablecloth because of the luminous quality of the material. Everywhere I look there is magic in the everyday. 😀

More explorations with food cellophane wrap! I am also painting on translucent vellum and sewing into the layers of plastic so it can become an integrated whole. These are the beginning steps towards my installation in July 2019 at the Evanston Art Center in Illinois. There is a light-filled atrium that I am sight-adjusting this work for. Excited! #sanfranciscoart #californiaart #hollywongart #installationart #lightworks #evanstonartcenter

I am thrilled to share that two of my “thread drawings” will be exhibited in a group exhibition at the Richmond Art Center show “What Knot” which will be up from September 11th-November 16th. These measure 11″ x 14″ each and use drafting film that I piece using a sewing machine as my drawing line with black thread and drawing paper.
