These are pictures by Al Wong of me “disappearing” into my artwork. The light reflective quality of the fabric combined with my own shadow give me the sensation of both being present and invisible. Much of my work explores this duality.

Mind Mountain in the Studio
Mind/Mountain at work
While working on my installation “Mind/Mountain,” my husband artist Al Wong really captured the energy of how I felt with his video camera. I especially enjoy the way he “burrowed” through the work to capture multiple angles and impressions. It is nearing completion and measures 13’W x 9’D x 6.5’H.

Early mornings in the studio
I find that early mornings are my best time to focus on my artwork. These are pictures of my work table with my many colored bobbins and spools of thread spread out. On my Singer 1968 model sewing machine, I am piecing together tulle segments for my next installation. The quiet of the early morning is a great time.
The daily studio process…
This is video documentation shot by Al Wong of me working in my studio. This is definitely my most happy time of day with mounds fabric, thread and of course, coffee.
Working on “Mind/Ocean”
This is video documentation of me working on “Mind/Ocean,” an installation made of tulle and thread, measuring 8’H x 20’W x 6’D. Thanks to Al Wong for his camera work on this!
