“Bia II” in the de Young Museum Open…

I was so thrilled to have my assemblage titled “Bia II” accepted into the de Young Museum Open exhibition which is up through January 3, 2021. In celebration of the de Young museum’s 125th anniversary, the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco hosted this juried community art exhibition of submissions by artists who live in the nine Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma. The de Young filled the 12,000-square-foot Herbst Exhibition Galleries with 877 artworks by 762 Bay Area artists.

At the same time, it is a bitter sweet moment since the Museum has just temporarily closed to visitors given that San Francisco is now in the purple tier in terms of COVID restrictions. I had visited the show back in mid-October and figured I would share these pictures of this wonderful day. It was so great to be in a museum again and hopefully this will be possible once again soon.

“Bia II” is made of colored pencil and graphite on woven drafting film mounted on paper and framed to 26 x 21 x 3. It is available for purchase through https://slateart.net/artists/holly-wong/
